Procedure on the Microsoft website
Video tutorial on the Microsoft website
The procedure for adding an internal and external team member is virtually the same as the procedure for adding a normal team member. In the team options menu, select “Add Member”.

As soon as you start typing the email address of the person you want, Teams will start suggesting existing users. If it doesn’t know one, it will offer the option to add them as a guest.

So choose to add the user as a guest.

Once you click the “Add” button, an invitation is sent to the user’s email address and you will see that they have been added as a guest. If you need to, you can continue adding more members right away.

Guest received an email invitation to join the team.

To connect, you must have a Microsoft Account, if you don’t have one, you can easily create one by clicking on the “Open Microsoft Teams” link. Although the process has several steps and may seem complicated at first, it can be done in a very short time.

In the next step, the country and date of birth to verify the age.

Then just wait for the email with the verification code.

The authentication email looks like this:

After overwriting the code from the email, the guest may still be prompted to overwrite the code from the image. There may be a slight hitch here – the code is composed of uppercase letters and numbers and is entered without spaces, even though it is two lines long.
Then you just need to confirm that the operator’s Teams will have access to the name, email and profile photo data (which it probably already has anyway).

Now the guest can proceed directly to Teams – either via the web or by downloading the app.
