Procedure on the BRNO ID website
If you use the online system, you will no longer have to take your ISIC to the DPMB, and you can avoid buying a sticker to extend the validity of your card if you do not use it otherwise.
Online to bank card
There are currently two options for processing a shalinkart.
The simpler and more convenient one (and the only one where you can use a connecting ticket) is online at www.brnoID.cz. On this website, you need to create an account and enter your bank card details into the system, which will serve as a carrier for the electronic ticket (you can purchase a so-called anonymous card, which is available at all DPMB branches for CZK 99). During the initial registration, you still need to go in person to a DPMB outlet and have the correctness of your personal data confirmed, and on the website www.brnoID.cz in the “My Account” section click on the “Verify student status” button, select JAMU and enter your text. The detailed procedure for the www.brnoID.czjewebsite is described on their website https://www.brnoid.cz/cs/cms/28-tipy in the section “How to buy a student shalinkart immediately from home? And how to deal with student status online?”. But then everything works completely online.
Once you have confirmed the connection of the system with your data in the JAMU Information System(https://is.jamu.cz/auth/privacy/dpmb), DPMB can already find out if you are an active JAMU student. Thus, you will never have to carry your ISIC to the DPMB again, and you can avoid buying a revalidation sticker if you don’t need or want it because of other discounts (the transport company will simply verify your student status through the IS; information about the electronically asked questions about your study status and the answers we have forwarded to external systems can be found athttps://is.jamu.cz/auth/export/prehled_exportu_aktivnosti).
So, in summary:
Create an account at www.brnoID.cz or log in to your existing
- If you haven’t done so already, you can go to a DPMB outlet in person and have your personal data confirmed.
Allow the system to be linked to your data in the JAMU Information System
- on the website www.brnoID.cz in the section “My Account” click on the button “Verify student status”, select JAMU and enter your teaching
- After successful status verification, buy a discounted ticket
That’s it, you won’t have to visit a DPMB branch again until the end of your studies.
Tips for working with the Brno iD e-shop
You can find the detailed procedure on the website www.brnoID.cz:
- How do I register for the new system?
- Where and how can I have my personal details verified for full account or discount claims? And what is needed for this?
- How to buy a student shalinkart from home right away? And how to deal with student status online?
The second option is to purchase a classic paper Šalinkarty, which is only available at the outlets of the Brno Transport Company or at the ČD ticket offices. It is necessary to fill in an application form, bring a valid ISIC (with a sticker if you do not have a freshly issued one) and a photo ID, and pay a processing fee of CZK 30. The issued pass is then valid until 30 September next year. When buying vouchers for the next period (monthly, quarterly or yearly) you must always show a valid ISIC again. Beware, it can be a bit tricky in the late summer/early autumn. If your ISIC is only valid until the end of the year, for example until December 2019, the transport company will only recognise it until 15 August, after which it requires an ISIC valid for the next academic year. And beware, you really need an ISIC now, it is not enough to have a study certificate.
