Practical internship (students and graduates of DF) - step by step

Practical internship (students and graduates of DF) – step by step

Who is the traineeship for

For students (and in some cases recent graduates*) of the JAMU Faculty of Arts who want to go on a work/artistic internship abroad within the Erasmus+ programme.

Where to do your traineeship

You can do your traineeship at almost any foreign institution, except EU institutions and organisations managing EU programmes (e.g. National Agencies).

Length of traineeship

An Erasmus+ traineeship usually lasts 2-12 months.
For PhD* students, it is also possible to do a short-term traineeship of 5-30 days. The traineeship can also be combined (physical + virtual part).

Graduate internship

It is also available as a graduate traineeship: applicants must be selected in their final year of study and complete the traineeship within 1 year of graduation. It is advisable to complete the paperwork while still studying.

Discuss the intention of the internship with the studio head / supervisor who approves it in good time (if your field of study does not have an internship directly in the curriculum).
Arrange:

  • term and length,
  • impact on teaching,
  • the framework and the benefits of the internship.

Contact the DF OC with the approved plan to fine-tune the procedure and administration.

Contact (ZO DF JAMU):
Mgr. Petra Riou, tel. 542 59 1305, e-mail: riou@jamu.cz

For practical placements, DF does not normally have a “partner list” as for study placements – the student often finds the institution himself/herself.
Recommendations:

look for inspiration in databases of internships and cultural organisations (On the Move, etc.).

review student experiences and final reports in IS,

Internships are submitted via a separate form (according to the current call for DF/JAMU).
Dates are governed by the current call for the academic year.

After approval:

  • you communicate with the institution on an ongoing basis,
  • at the DF ZO it is necessary to add:
    • an acceptance letter with the exact dates of the internship,
    • Learning Agreement (including signatures as required).

You can voluntarily complete the online language test (link goes to your school email).

If the ISP is compulsory for you (according to your field of study/year), it is necessary to have the ISP approved by the DF Study Department.
Without the ISP (if required), the internship cannot be realized.

Before departure, financial arrangements and insurance are handled in the same way as for a study stay.

At the Rector’s Office:
BcA. Barbora Toiflová, tel. 542 59 1126, e-mail: toiflova@jamu.cz

At the DF ZO:

  • Confirmation of Erasmus Period,
  • Learning Agreement – After the Mobility.

Come in:

  • EU Survey (online final report),
  • internal final report (reflection for other students).

Recognition of the work placement is governed by a written agreement with the head of the studio, which should be resolved before departure.
Upon return, recognition is usually based on the document “Learning Agreement – After the Mobility” + a statement from the head of the studio (to be delivered to the Study Department of the Faculty of Arts).
