- Study stay: A stay only at a foreign university with which JAMU has an inter-institutional agreement of 2-12 months. The list of partner schools is available in the ISOIS system. If you cannot find a school, please contact the foreign department (new contracts can sometimes be negotiated, e.g. Universität der Künste in Berlin does not conclude contracts). The stay can also be done as a combined mobility (physical trip + virtual part).
- Work/internship: internship in a foreign organisation, which the student finds himself/herself (does not have to be a contractual partner).
- Graduate internship: practical internship within 1 year of graduation (application must be submitted before the state examinations).
- Short-term mobility: specific opportunity for PhD students for 5-30 days
Students who have already completed Erasmus can also apply, as long as they are currently in a different stage of their studies.
The first step towards the trip is successful completion of the internal selection procedure at the faculty. This process serves to nominate students who will subsequently represent JAMU abroad.
The internal application must be submitted by 15 January 2026.
Method of delivery by destination:
- Programme countries (EU, EEA and candidate countries): the application is submitted electronically via ISOIS. GDPR approval is required to create an application in the JAMU IS.
- Other countries (e.g. Switzerland, UK) and traineeships: the non-EU mobility form is used and submitted outside ISOIS. Submit the completed and signed form to the International Office. For these countries, financial support is limited and is dealt with on an individual basis.
Required attachments to the internal application: the application must be accompanied by the consent of the teacher of the major, the head of the department and the foreign language teacher. Consents can be submitted in one form or as separate documents.
Choice of institution:
- You can list up to 4 foreign institutions per application in order of priority.
- It is only possible to go on a study stay to a school with which JAMU has a valid contract.
- If you don’t find the school of your choice on the list, contact the International Office. In some cases, a new contract can be negotiated, but some schools (e.g. Universität der Künste in Berlin) do not conclude new contracts.
All applications are reviewed by the Dean’s College, which may confirm or modify the length of stay.
You will be informed by e-mail about the approval or modification of the length of stay
Once your internal application has been approved by the Dean’s College, you must apply for admission directly to the international school of your choice.
1. Submission procedure
Unlike the internal round, applications for the study abroad round are submitted independently and entirely at the student’s discretion.
- Form: Most schools use their own online systems or forms. Always check the procedure and required documents directly on the school’s website.
- Number of applications: we recommend applying to up to 4 international schools. This will increase your chances of successful admission.
2. Schedule and deadlines
Application deadlines are fully within the competence of the foreign schools and cannot be influenced by JAMU.
- Standard dates: usually from mid-February to the end of May.
- Important note (Switzerland): some schools, especially in Switzerland, have deadlines very early – often as early as 31. 1. or 15. 2..
- Recommendation: Prepare the attachments well in advance. There is often little time between the approval of the nomination at JAMU and the deadline for sending it abroad.
3. Required documents
Although each school has its own specifics, most often you will need the following portfolio:
- Recording: usually a minimum of 15 minutes. It should contain 2-3 songs from different styles.
- Structured CV: In English or German (depending on the language of instruction).
- Motivation letter: a justification of why you want to study at the institution.
- Score: Specific requirement for students in Composition.
4. What happens after sending?
Once applications are submitted, there is a waiting period and evaluation by the foreign institution.
- Disclaimer: The deadline for announcing the results cannot be accelerated. A decision on acceptance or non-acceptance may not arrive until June.
- Choosing a school: If you are successful and are accepted to more than one school at the same time, you must make a binding decision by the deadline.
- Next steps: after receiving the acceptance letter, you will proceed with the administration related to the trip (Learning Agreement, insurance, contract).
The Erasmus+ scholarship is seen as a contribution to the increased cost of living abroad and therefore the student is expected to contribute financially.
Scope of financial support
- One semester only: Erasmus+ currently only allows funding for one semester.
- Zero grant: a possible second semester can only be implemented as a zero grant (without financial support). Additional financial support for the second semester can only be received if funds are available and JAMU meets the quantitative requirements of the grant agreement.
- Year-round stay: If you are applying for a full academic year, please only apply if you are able to fund the second semester from your own resources.
Composition of the grant
The overall support consists of two parts:
- Residence grant: amount for living expenses. For the amount of the grant per country, please refer to the Rates in Call 2025 document.
- Travel grant: a one-off lump sum to cover travel expenses, the amount of which depends on the distance of the destination
Conditions for payment
You will receive the scholarship only after submitting a letter of acceptance from the foreign school and a confirmed OLA (Online Learning Agreement).
- Contract: The financial agreement (Participation Contract) is drawn up and paid by the foreign department of the JAMU Rector’s Office (Mgr. BcA. Barbora Toiflová, DiS.).
- Payment date: The scholarship will be paid before the trip at a minimum of 70% for one semester
Specifics for graduates and non-EU countries
- Graduate internships: the scholarship can be received and the participation contract can only be concluded for the period when you are a JAMU student. On the day you pass the final state exam, you cease to be a student and can no longer receive the scholarship, even if you return abroad.
- Other countries (e.g. Switzerland, UK): for these countries, financial support is limited and is dealt with on an individual basis.
Once you have received notification of acceptance from the foreign institution, the administrative phase of preparing for your departure begins. In order to be released from your studies at JAMU and to receive the scholarship, you must fulfill the following points.

3. Practical matters
- Accommodation: accommodation should be arranged before departure . Information about hostels or agencies is usually sent by the foreign schools together with the acceptance letter.
- Student status: the scholarship can only be received while you are a student at JAMU . On the day you pass the state final exam you cease to be a student and your entitlement to the scholarship ceases.
4. Recognition of studies
- Recognition of courses: courses taken abroad will be recognised upon your return, including those not included in the JAMU curriculum (recognised as personal specialisations or electives).
- Length of study: the internship abroad should not lead to an extension of your studies at JAMU; after your return you will continue normally in the next semester.
